Today at long last I went to see Simon Rodia's Watts Towers in South L.A. I had unscheduled myself from work and, after a slow lazy start I decided I had to conduct some research on landmarks. Serendipitously I spoke with Y before I was heading out and since she had the afternoon free she decided to come with! It was incredibly spontaneous and adventurous, as we took the 10 mile drive back to school on surface streets where we experienced the colorful palettes of the neighborhoods. The excursion was a great change of pace which she and I realized we had both needed.
